Instructions for the dart variant English Cricket
Objective of the Game:
The goal of English Cricket is to score as many points as possible by hitting and closing specific sections on the dartboard. Players must try to close as many numbers as possible before their opponent does.
Game Preparation:
English Cricket is played with two or more players. Each player throws two darts in turn to determine who will start the game. The player with the highest score begins.
Gameplay:
At the start of the game, players must aim to close the numbers 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, and the bullseye. Each number must be hit twice by each player before it is considered “closed.” When a player hits a number that has not yet been closed, it is marked with a slash. When a player hits a number that is already closed, it is marked with an X.
If a player hits a number that has not yet been closed, the value of that number is added to their score. If a player hits a number that is already closed, no additional points are awarded. The bullseye counts as 50 points.
After each player has thrown their two darts, the next player takes their turn. The game continues until one player has closed all the numbers and has more points than their opponent. Alternatively, the game may also end when a player has scored more than half of the total possible points.
Strategy:
To succeed at English Cricket, players need a solid strategy. It’s important to close the numbers in the right order to maximize points. Most players start by closing the higher numbers (such as 20 and 19), since these bring the most points. However, it’s also important to close the bullseye early to secure a strong scoring advantage.
Summary:
English Cricket is a fast-paced and entertaining darts game that is easy to learn but difficult to master. The aim is to score as many points as possible by hitting and closing specific sections on the dartboard. A good strategy and strong concentration are key to success in English Cricket.
